Thirty Themes in Thirty Lessons
The whole-Bible story is best learned in its order; the themes understood in order create a contextual building process—from Genesis to Revelation. With this inter-denominational study, you can learn the major themes with corresponding book names and many key scripture points that support them. You might additionally plan to read through the whole Bible—perhaps in a summer—and personally learn the key scriptures for your discussions and memory.
This learning format is designed for a fuller understanding and knowledge of the structure, themes, sections, books, people, and major events of the whole Bible. The more we learn about our Creator and Savior, the more we want to read about His plan for our lives. This lesson format encourages “inductive” Bible study for individual and group settings. As you search scriptures for meaning and application, consider the questions provided, write your answers, and later review or discuss your findings with others who might be interested. Your journal is your record for later reference. The 30 Lessons also have 30 Chapter Summaries to clarify during or review after the Lesson Questions. |
These steps will strengthen your personal belief and growth from a biblical-content perspective. If you are in a class or Bible study small group, you should also extend your learning with others through active discussions, prayer and fellowship.
This 30-theme Lesson Guide is designed for personal journaling through 200 scriptures over several weeks or months. Others might help you form a small group. Informal small-groups can study the 30 Lessons in 30 meetings. Your church may want to do a whole-Bible 30-week overview class, led by an equipped teaching team. This class will be a foundation for later in-depth studies of each Bible book. |
Excellent guide to increase your understanding of the Bible! Understanding the Bible and how the Old Testament relates to the New Testament can be challenging for many believers. This compact guide gives you the tools you need to see the "big picture." Through personal study, reflection and group discussion, I have developed a better understanding of the Bible and how all the books fit together. I highly recommend this guide for church or other small group Bible studies as well as for personal study. --Rhonda, 2018
